Data-driven, research-based wisdom for a healthy and vibrant life

My name is Ari Marcovski and I have been practicing yoga on and off the mat for the past 30 years, and working as a kindergarten teacher and yoga educator for much of that time. I came to yoga seeking assistance in healing the painful mental and physical ailments that were wreaking havoc on my well-being.
As I engaged in the practice of yoga, learning from traditional and alternative therapies, and internalizing insight and wisdom, my life slowly transformed and I regained my health, which in turn revived my playfulness and joy.
It is from this place of applied knowledge, joyful intentionality, and deep gratitude that I practice and teach, as I feels strongly that a true guru is one who helps others become their own guru rather than blind followers. The lessons that I impart on the mat invite students and seekers to come more fully into themselves off the mat, and grow their awareness and freedom to choose what feels best for them in their life.
I received my yoga teaching certification from orthopedic yoga expert, Michelle Fleming, in 2018, and my muscular therapy certification from The Muscular Therapy Institute in Cambridge, MA in 1998.
My gentle yoga class emphasizes intentional and simultaneous engagement of individual postural alignment, mind-training techniques, and heartfelt connectedness, over strict physically-oriented asana-based practice. Together we will recall and affirm that our natural creature state is connection while what we experience in our lives is varying levels of accumulated resistance to that inherent harmony. Holding that understanding, you will be invited and guided to become your own guru, as you fine-tune your personal balance between structure and freedom, movement and stillness, and focus and play. Together we will aim to blur the line between yoga practice and life, and infuse our day-to-day life with a deep, playful intentionality. No prior yoga experience is necessary but please come with an open mind, a courageous heart, and an attitude of playful intentionality.
